SHE’S a modern twist on that old adage “Make love, not war”. The British Army soldier who gave birth to a baby son at Camp Bastion in Afghanistan just days after a suicide attack by the Taliban was named last night as Lynette Pearce, 28.
A policeman’s daughter, she joined the Royal Artillery after captaining the national women’s football team in her native Fiji.
She did not know she was prgenant when she gave birth at the fortified camp, which is now home to Prince Harry while he fights the Taliban.
Yesterday messages saying, “Welcome to motherhood,” were being posted on her Facebook site, where she has more than 1,200 friends.
