Whereas Jay’s strategy is to lower women’s value, Cal’s approach is to invest Andy with greater value by making him more interesting and mysterious. Cal is a self-proclaimed “novelist” who acknowledges that he is “ugly as fuck” but nonetheless able to attract women. As Cal explains, “the problem most men have is they don’t know how to talk to women”.
