Face-ache. At first, an ironically joc. term of address, C.20, (c.f. face, n., 4); but by ca. 1960 often used ‘straight’, as in ‘“He is a face-ache” —his presence is very unpleasant and undesirable’ (Jonathan Thomas, 1976)
